Awarded Ontario Arts Council photography grant in 1972 to photograph Privateer abandoned gold mines in Spud Valley, near Zeballos, Vancouver Island. Taylor occupied the former assay office of the mine overlooking a waterfall. Thirty years since the mine was closed nature has reclaimed power over the straight line imposed upon forests of Spud Valley. These photographs document Taylor’s encounter with broken structures.
